Tybee Island marks the eastern end of US Highway 80, so it truly is
the "end of the road". But for many, discovering Tybee represents a
new beginning. If you're familiar with the phrase "Somewhere a
village is missing an idiot", you will find that many of them have
settled here. "Characters" abound and help give Tybee a character all
its own. Then, of course, there is the natural beauty of the island that
was here long before any of us. Pictures simply can't do justice to the
ever changing beauty of the ocean or the brilliant green of the tidal
marsh. Some call Tybee quirky or crazy, most call it laid back but
those who are fortunate enough get to call Tybee home.
